I also have another simpler Theory.
O stands for Online. game is the 2nd word (as that's what the creators wanted to do: create a game) So, combine the two words to get Online Game. Shorten form to get Ogame.
I could be wrong with this theory.
Theory 2:
O stands for a circle. The circle stands for continuity and balance.
This balance is peace and war. At times there is peace, and at times there is war, but time keeps going: never stopping, always moving.
Game is game. A pass-time for people who go online.
So, Ogame is a game that is continuously being played where there is constant peace and war. Things being built, resources and fleets (mostly) which then get destroyed, and then re-built.
These are my thoughts/opinions.
